    Stasis StreetSports...

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I am really leaning towards getting the Stasis StreetSports and was wondering if anyone with this setup would give me their input. How is the ride quality most importantly? Easy to adjust height while on car? And if anyone that has this setup is in the area, i would really appreciate it if i could come by and take a ride
    thanks in advance

search the b7 forum for tons of info on these, I have them and they are a great compromise of handling and ride quality.

    Re: Stasis StreetSports...

I have a used set I purchased for $650 and they are great. They ride more firm than my old OE sport suspension but are a nice compromise. They make the car look more intentional, a great set up IMHO.

As for adjustability, most will agree that after the initial set up it's better to leave them alone since the rears are not as easy to adjust as adverstised. But most of the COs out there are the same way.

Rebound could be a tad bit firmer in my opinion but I'm happy with the set up, particularly since my wife uses the car more than I. She has gotten use to the firmer ride without complaints.

i'm one of those 10 sets and they are awesome, although the rears are a bitch unless you drop the subframe

just ask Clint to do the work. he's a licensed installer for stasis by now

    STāSIS FTW.

Rears on the Streetsports are a bit hard to adjust while on the car.

Even if the car is in the air? I'm thinking I should not have a problem since I can get the car on a lift to make any adjustment I want.

Anyone familiar with Avant adapters? I gotta call STaSIS about that..

i ran them for a while on my A4 (with the STaSIS 1" rear spacers) and they were excellent for a daily driver vehicle. I would not hesitate to buy them again or recommend them to anyone.

I WOULDNT worry too much about adjusting them. its not something you are likely to do twice. the fronts are easy on the car but the rears supposedly need to be removed. thats the only reason i hadnt raised mine about 1/2"

    handling is unbelievable!

Have any more info on those spacers? I might as well just call STaSIS about it...

Chris. I plan on adjusting mine twice a year.. Raise back to stock sport or higher for the winter months. Lower to 'slammed' in the summer with help from my adjustable control arms. Alignment each time I adjust the ride height.

x3 on the price quote. Ive done some research on this and am thinking about getting Eibach pro kit springs and pro damper struts. But if the price is right I might just get the co's for the adjustability.

    Re: Stasis StreetSports...

I have Stasis Streetsports. My car is one of Clint's (AudiA4_20T) installs.

Ride Quality: Like OEM sport but firmer. You do feel road imperfections more. The car 'floats' less over bumps and big dips in the highway. If you get on a really crappy road you notice them, but on decent roads its hard to tell a difference from OEM sport. As the driver YOU will notice them, but many of my passengers didn't notice any ride quality differences.

Handling: Is on another level. I use to think OEM sport was pretty good, but the Streetsports proved that wrong. Hard corners and sweeping on-ramps are much easier to take at speed effortlessly. I can easily take on-ramps 15-20mph faster with Stasis. If you go from non-sport to Stasis...it would be an even more significant difference.

Adjustability: Fronts are easily adjusted on the car. The rears are a pain. In the rear the part you turn sits beneath the spring (as opposed to the top). The part sits in a little bowl shaped area, making it nearly impossible to get a good angle to get the wrench in. Even if you can, you can only turn it an inch or so before you run out of room and have to go at it from a different angle.

Money: For the price you can't beat them. Stasis also has excellent customer service. (I would buy them again, but if you plan to adjust the rears often, you may want to get a set that's easier to adjust).

    Re: Stasis StreetSports...

I went from OEM Sport to a Bilstein/H&R setup (which I still have) to the Streetsports and would not look back. I am definitely very happy with the Stasis'. As everyone has been saying, they ride a tad stiffer than OEM Sport suspension but still give you a very comfortable ride. And the upgrade in handling is certainly noticeable. There are group buys on them every once in a while which is why I jumped on a set. Absolutely worth the money that you pay.

No offense, but you are wrong. I will adjust them. I need the added ground clearance in the winter for all the snow I drive in. Esp if I'm going to slam this thing in the summer. I can also stick my car on my friend's lift to make any adjustments with ease.

Sure. On a lift its easier to drop the subframe.

Lift or floorjack, fronts are still easy, rears are still a PITA. Both cases the suspension is fully unloaded. Only difference is you're standing instead of sitting.

By hard I meant just annoying. Once the car is on a lift, each rear should take no more then 5 min max.

You can only get them from STaSIS. they are basically 1" thick CNC machined aluminum spacer that you install between the adjuster perch and the spring (IIRC they were $85 + S&H). it allows a higher ride height in the rear. It was the only way i could get the rear of the car to ~25.625" ride height. When i got mine a while ago they only made a few. I sold them to 1/4 scale w/ my SS's last year.

Are you guys needing spacers because it's an avant?

My USP sedan sat at 26"/25.75" front/rear stock. I think with Stasis SS all the way up you can hit 25.5".

    I prefer 24.75" front, ~ 25" rear. Gives it a subtle rake.

It seems to be car & kit dependent as i had a sedan. Some of the earlier kits suposidly had slightly shorter rear springs than the newer kits (koni was aware and told us it would be addressed)

Its for getting the proper height when fully extended, Clint. IE: what would become my 'winter right height'

EBG 18T... Do you recall what the proper length of the springs should be? I can measure the springs then to see if its warranted to order the spacers or not.

i honestly don't remember. I had them in an e-mail but i can't find it. when i had the rear adjuster all the way up (enough threads to be safe) i could not get higher than about 24.75". I wanted 25.625" Once i added the spacer i was able the lower the adjuster to the center of the adjustment range and easily acheived the height i wanted. I also felt safer having the adjuster not sitting on 2-3 contact threads.
