I get the orbital vs. rotary. My question is in regard to the smaller units

    versus the larger units.

(nice how the pics are opposite the size of the units).

the unit you show the flex (orbital) has capabilities of correction.

the buffer that you have is to apply and remove.

a rotary I feel will give you the best results in the proper hands and trained person. (with practice you can get the hang of it)

but you can stand a chance to burn the paint and take the clear off.

the orbital like the pc or flex would be great for the beginner all the way up to a pro.

I was considering the larger Gem style unit because I am going to tackle my boat this winter. Still, from your suggestion the Flex sounds like the way to go.

if you plan on doing a boat your best bet will be a rotary like the Makita 9227.

if you plan on doing a car as well go maybe with the Flex XC3401 (safer on the car)

Sounds like the XC3401 is the ticket. I was looking at the Gem and Cyclo only because they would cover a larger area faster (which may just be relative). Thanks.

Just started doing my own detailing, but you (and your company) have been great to deal with and quite helpful. BTW I would have added to my microfiber order with your other suggestions, but I got called out of town on a case and just had my Blackberry with me and had to get the order in before the deadline. Unfortunately your site is a little tough to navigate on the small screen so I just ordered what I had in my cart, but I cannot imagine a lot of shoppers order from their BlackBerries.

Rest assured further orders will be forthcoming.
