My project (am i forgetting anything?)

I bought my A4 back in sept 06 and didnt have any trouble with it until feb 07 when I lost 2nd gear. It would go into gear fine but once any power was applied it would pop out. Since it was my DD i had no choice to continue driving it and try to get money to get it fixed. Then around nov 07 I lost 3rd gear with the same symptoms. Again, had to continue to drive it.(1st-4th sucks haha)I finally was able to get another car and stop driving it. In that period of time i have gathered some parts, but dont know what smaller bits I will need. I like to have everything i need before i start something. Here is what I have.

• PES t28 kit w/ FMIC
• Replacement transmission
• APR snub mount
• RS4 Engine mounts
• New rotors and pads
• Bilstein struts
• H&R sport springs
• 12pc control arm kit
• Fidanza 10lb FW
• Southbend stg 5 clutch

I am just wanting to know if you guys can help me figure out what else I need.(Bolts, gaskets, or anything else i should do while everything is apart.)
I already have exhaust and know I need to look into getting software. Any input is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I didn't know southbend made a 6 puck clutch now? Otherwise, I would say you don't need a stage 5 for a t28 setup.

The 6 puck is in my SHO and is a few years old :shrug:. The stg 5 I got for the A4 is full face. Yes I know its overkill, but I build cars to drive them hard not to pussyfoot it. I was going to just get a stg 4 but with a $65 difference might as well get the stg 5 for piece of mind.

But FYI. I run the stage 4 on my car and its makes a tiny bit more power than a t28 setup.... besides, I don't have much faith in the stage 5 setup.

Im gonna assume the tiny bit is sarcastic. I would rather have too much than not enough. From what I read here it seemed to be the top choice behind twin disc. Plus who knows how long Ill stick with the t28 before I want to go bigger, I would rather not have to get a different clutch to do so. Drivability isnt much of an issue, I DD the SHO with the 6 puck for like 1 1/2 years.

Why would you look for software if you have the PES kit? PES has a fueling setup for their kit.

P.S. - I run a stage 5 in my DD. It's completely streetable except it does blow a little in heavy stop and go traffic for long periods of time.

I can take pics of whatever you want, I have parts and some are on their way. I want to start tearing it apart next, hence why I want to see if there is anything i am missing or need to get before I do so. But aparently noone wants to give any info so I guess its useless. As for time frame as long as it takes to do the job right the first time. Is that ok with you?

You really want my input? I've been there and done that, several times... Dont use fluid filled mounts, use solid rubber 034 mounts in your choice of density... Dont use the APR snub, use the 034 one with tight fitting bracket, it makes all the difference... Put rods in your car, you want a ticking time bomb? Upgrade the tranny mounts, it really helps get rid of drivetrain slack, which is great since you lose a ton of hp to awd as it is... Dont run a cupkit, save for coils, since cupkits never sit at the desired height and levelness... Other than that, looks good... Oh, one more thing, Id go with a T3 flanged manifold the first time around, so you dont kick yourself in the ass later... Im planning on a T3 28rs or 2871 on my Golf, since Ive learned from experience on my Audi.

Dont it? Remember Tom Ritt? He ran one with great results on his A4. I'll probably go 2871 T04E comp housing/.63 turbine housing though

Got all of the front suspension out, now to get the turbo and trans out. I guess Ill just have to get everything apart to see what Ill need to put everything back together. Any tips on getting the trans out? It does look rather easy/straightforward.

theres a writeup for a clutch install on ?a4mods? its pertty straight forward, just dont lose your cool with the bols around the bellhousing, especially on th bottom. GL man!!
