    Re: "Break-in" Procedure?

for my new b8, i got this sheet the dealer gave me. don't rev it up high for the first 1000 miles. first oil change is at 5,000 miles and is free.

as said before, don't let it sit at the same rpm for long.
    don't go over 75mph.
be gentle with her pretty much.

    cheers... rocco

They're wet sump engines, broken in at the factory. Take it easy for 500 miles and after that, ease into it. After 1,000, have fun.

    Re: "Break-in" Procedure?

like maverick said, 1st 500 avoid full throttle use, 500-1000 pick up the pace and after 1000 or so let her rip. The 75 mph limit comment isn't correct. I believe for the first 500 Audi suggests staying below 2/3 to 3/4 top speed i.e. 100-120mph range. After 500 can gradually push on upward if you dare.

i recommend you consult your manual and follow what the audi engineers decided for the break-in. above posts sound reasonable though
