Re: wanting to sell my audi...

Learn to turn your own wrenches, and its a cheap car to own.

    Example,

I bought my audi for 6500, I but the following into it
    New clutch 300
    New TB 225
    New snub40
New VC gasket, and CCT gasket-40
Dealer quote was like 3300 with parts for all that.

no, the car seemed to be in good condition...it drove very well, everything on the interior was in good condition (cnt go by that, i know) but i wasnt expecting this...the transmission i can understand, even though the car only had 54k on it...but it just keeps f*cking coming..its like it doesnt stop...all the money im gonna spend on repairs, shit i could have had myself like a new audi within a year worth of repairs! and also, i know i could try these things myself, but i have no one to show me, and i dont have much time with work, and school...i would love to know how to do these things, but i have no way of learning =[

Re: wanting to sell my audi...

Did you always bring your car to the same shop? Was it a used car...I wouldn't blame the manufacturer/ Audi for the trouble. Audi's and VW's are very reliable cars if one treats them well. I've got a 1995 Golf III 1.9 TDI 75HP. It has 298000 miles down , on one tranny and one engine. The only things that needed work were the timing belt changes, oil changes, brake changes and a clutch change. It looses a little oil, a few drops each night but thats just how it goes with a car that old.

You have to be careful with the repair shops you go to. Alot of fools out there create malfunctions in order to cash in on their customers. Thats why you have to be really cautious about which place you bring your car to.

Another factor, regarding the tranny for example is the previous owner of the car. If he treats the car like shit, shifts the gears and uses the clutch like a maniac, any car will
    break.

haha i know, my dad said we were gonna bring it in to an audi and have it checked out first, before we bought it, but when your standing there and theres this beautiful audi, you cnt say to yourself "oh theres something wrong with it" haha..you just want it! so i decided to just skip the most important part, and not waste time...and yes i bought it from a dealership..i think im gonna take a couple pics, throw it up on a website for sale, and if it doesnt sell, then oh well...

another thing: miles can be turned back, manipulated. Doesn't have to be true that the car has 54000 miles.

haha please stoppp i feel like an idiot as it isss...and yeah i had a choice between a civic and this car, and i sure as hell wish i woulda taken the civic...all the repairs added on top of the amount i paid for the car, i could have had the nicest civic =[..so what do you guys think i could get for this car? maybe like 10 grand at the most? i mean its a 3.0 with every option imagineable ...quattro, heated seats, xenons, the mirrors, ...whts the max price i should be asking for ?

Re: wanting to sell my audi...

    Again,

It doesn't really matter whether you buy a civic or an A4, the dealership and the people matter. If you buy from jerks that try to suck out every cent, they can, from you you'll probably end up with a crappy car nomather what brand/ make. Was the place an official Audi dealership? To bad the states don't have laws to protect buyers from that shit. In Germany for example, a used car dealership has to give a garantee for up to 12 months. If anything happens within that time range the dealership has to either repair it at own cost or take the car back and refund the money. Of course that only counts for parts which haven't been damaged wantonly or intentionally and when it can be proven that the buyer isn't at fault. They have government technicians that examine the affected parts and try to investigate the cause of the damage.
