DIY RS4 Hood and Fog Grills

So I got a used B5 A4 grill the other day from a buddy and wanted to experiment with it. Home depot sells mesh that is almost exactly the same as the real RS4 mesh so I made my own. Did the fog grills too but you can't see those to well...

It turned out really nice, and I got to color match the surround to my my lip.

hey dude, do you have a pic of the mesh material from HD? i just want to know what to look for ... i can never find it in the store... what aisle or section is it in? how much was it also?

im going there tonight haha. i want to start doing my RS4 bumper mod! ... do you think black plasti-dip would make it look just like the Rs4 mesh ? or what would you use to simulate plastic over metal and of course black in color?

i used gloss black auto spraypaint and clear coat. i'm pretty damn good with a rattle can though, so take your time!

looks good man, with the price of the rs4 grille nowadays, that's not such a bad investment. what did you use for glue ? And did you have to use a dremel to get the old grill out ?

anyways, I don't have a part number for the mess. it's pretty easy to find at home depot though.

the fogs do work, but sorry I can't give away my secret. affordable piping should be for sale here in the future...

dremmel out the tabs on the stock "mesh" pull that off and then dremmel out the fog light surround, from there you can cut the mesh to fit and then i used silicone to attache everything...

at home depot that stuff is packaged in a box which is probably why some cant find it, its not on a spool or anything. look in teh bbq grill section or the metal section. different stores have them in diff places.

I can afford 100 RS4 grills, but chose to go this route when I got a grill to work with for free. if folks can get it to look good, why not?

I rather have the real thing .
I got mine for 50 bucks with out a grille surround, I have an S4 grille surround on mine.
