Best jack point for a floor jack?

Getting to be winter and I'll be bolting some snows on soon. I have a full size floor jack. What's the best jack point under the car. Pretty much anyplace on a frame rail?

If you look under the side to the rear of the front wheel you will see the plastic is cut away and an exposed metal rail, same goes for rear but infront of the rear wheel, that is unless your floor jack has a huge cup.

    We use jackpads here.
They can be trimmed to fit around the various side skirts on the newer b6/B7 vehicles as well.

check your manual in the section on changing a tire. it shows where you'd attach your widow-maker that came with the car. same spots, but x2 on having a small jack cup or jack pads.

Well the ones on the rs4 won't work :( we have no screws that will hold it there. So if you want to glue them on go for it otherwise they won't work. I went down to the dealer and compared my car to the rs4! :( oh well

Has anyone used the yellow jack pad above? On a B7 Audi A4, does it fit on the pinch weld without cracking any of the plastic outside of the pinch weld?

I used the widowmaker jack the other day, and it does scare me. I've heard of folks bending the pinch weld which prompts the ques. on the pad.

    Floor Jack pads
I bought some jackstand pads and they fell to shreds the first time I used them! Never again would I spend so much money on this junk. Too soft for the application. Hockey puck all the way!

Recently I swapped out my fuel filter, and when I removed one of the underbody plastic liners, I found we actually do have real jack points, not the pinch weld but there is a large square area where you can jack up the car in the back on each side, i didn't check the front but I would assume it would be very similar.

    Okay ,
I need to do wheel bearings on the front of my 98 A4. Possibly brakes while I'm there.
So I'll be jacking the entire front of the car and placing it onto jack stands.
Sure I know where the jack points are that are provided by Audi, for changing tires presumably.
But I need additional points to position the floor jack so that I can lift the car onto the jack stands.
Of course I can't place the jack stands where the floor jack is.
    Thanks
    Ken
