    Re: Have you used this?

You are honestly better of sending them to a reputable rebuilder.

I live in Utah, no rebuilder around here, I ask around and no one would do it, they tell me to buy new ones. Someone help, anybody know where I can sent it to get rebuilt and how much? Thanks

    Re: Have you used this?

Well you could swap the CHRA's yourself. But you need to buy legitimate ones. So I assume you are going to buy 2 CHRA's on eBay for 400. Why not just spend the extra 200 dollars and have a legit place do them, with OE components and a warranty?

edit* the seller on eBay is legit. He is on the forums here, but you are still going to end up spending 800 sans your labor costs.

    Re: Have you used this?

you can send them away to be rebuilt and if you like upgraded at the same time for the same cost as new centers.

but if you want to rebuild them that would work just fine as long as there is no physical damage to the turbos. as far as those ebay rebuild kits, they aren't very complete and for a few bucks more you can buy a more complete rebuild kit off a online turbo dealer.
The biggest thing when rebuilding a turbo is to mark off precisely the position of the turbine in relation to the shaft or it will be out of balance and the turbo will fail again very soon (re-balancing costs around $100 and up) other than that, turbos are a very simple device and not so much of a black art as others believe.

Just as warning, I would stay away from that ebay seller. He rebuilt my K04/16 turbos and screwed them up majorly. Didn't even balance them. Turbos failed instantly. Send them to a reputable shop like Blouch, they actually know what they are doing. I'm sure Audspeed is going to jump on here really soon and try to say that I'm lying...but I have the proof that he didn't build them right, and failed because of his poor work. Not to mention the fact that he charged me for new compressor wheels but reused the damaged ones and tried to cover it up by filing down the edges of them. Just warning you, because he won't do anything about it and I'm out $1100. Be careful.

If you are refering to Blouch Turbo, they are actually in PA, not FL. Audspeed is in FL, but I would stay away from Audspeed.

PS, if you decide you would rather save some money and stick with K03's, I have a set with less than 20,000 miles on them that are in perfect shape. I removed them a few months ago when I went stage 3. Let me know if you are interested, I'll let them go cheap.
