Which are better? I'm assuming the KWs because of the difference in price but does anyone have experience. Thanks in advance.

Yea, but a lot of people are unwilling to spring the extra cash for the KWs. I'd say if you have it, get the KW V2s.

Re: KW Variant Coilovers vs. Stasis SS

i did a really long review on my V2's - just search that if you want to know about them. can't compare them. your best bet is to hit up someone who's in the socal area (or another area with a high AZ population) and see if they've ridden in a few different cars on coilovers and can help you decide.

I know Stasis is good but where does the difference in price come from? Why are KWs so much more expensive?

Re: KW Variant Coilovers vs. Stasis SS

The prices are just made from many different things like research and development, materials used, etc. It's all opinion too. People that have KW will say they are better and likewise with STaSIS. My opinion is that KW is nice, but I like STaSIS better.

I'm seeing the KWs for $1200 new and Stasis for $1000 new. There are some KWs in the classifieds for sale and the seller said he paid $1600 for them. I didn't do much research on the KWs because I was sold on the Stasis.

If you want a stainless steel shock body you will have to get the KW's. If i was going to look at KW's i would only look at the V2 or V3 since they have dampening adjustability.

My only quam with KW is they spec too soft of a rear spring. The ride quality of a properly set of KW v2 is very good but the handling of the street sports will be a little more balanced when setup properly.

They are progressive springs so they don't have a single linear spring rate, but the approximate linear rate is about 450 lbs/in for both front and rear.

Thanks for the feedback, i'm not to worried about the dampening situation because I won't be tracking this car and fine tuning the suspension to be precise. Just my daily driver with some spirited driving.

From what i've been seeing, the Stasis SS are up to around $1200 since this thread was started. Bummer. Although since so many people like them, time for a B6 A4 Group Buy?
