Can't get these damn water spots off my OpenSky

So I've got these water spots on the glass of my OpenSky on my 08 A3 that I can't remove for the life of me. I've tried everything I can think of before I start going to harsh chemicals. I'm just hesitant using anything super strong that may cause other damage. Any thoughts?

Look up Chemical Guys Water Spot Remover. It's just about the best out there, but it IS a harsh chemical, so just be careful when using it, and you should follow up with a good buffing as well.

    Good luck!

Have you tried to Clay the glass? You should try that to see if that will clear them up, let us know if it does.

    Yep

I tried clay and almost tried a light polish but decided against it.

Clay won't do anything. these are etched into the window, you need to chemically remove them (with the CG Water Spot Remover like I suggested), and then follow up with a polish such as Menzerna 106FA. But you can clay and polish as much as you please ;)

You could try a light abrasive like Meguiars Scratch-X with a foam pad before you go too aggresive. Just a suggestion.

That would be worse than the CG I recommended. If you want to try something OTC try vinegar and water with a good MF towel and report back, then when that doesn't work because there's serious etching, please just buy the chemical, you'll save yourself the headaches, and waste of time trying other processes.

    d00t,
Thanks for the info, problem with replying to these posts from your blackberry is you can miss some of the comments. I just saw your comment about the CG product (love their stuff). Funny thing is I was just down at their shop in Inglewood, CA a few weeks ago and I totally forgot to ask if they had something for the glass, I was to focused on dealing with a hood blemish. I've gotta head down to LA in a couple of weeks so I'll swing by and pick up the product you suggested. Thanks for the info.
