So now that i have sorted out most of my cars issues, i decided to go drive around a bit...

This is a short second gear pull... Running less than 0.9bar... Wasn't even close to the limiter which is now at ~7500rpm.

Nothing fancy.

B5 2001.5 1.8T with the original K03 housing rebuilt by some nutter friends of mine who ground down the biggest compressor wheel they could get in there.
Tubular exhaust manifold, cat delete race pipe with the rest stock exhaust.
TT's 710N DV and injectors, L8 S3 MAF, smallish FMIC, external engine oil cooler.
I've removed the pcv system, LSD(not that it helps much) gearbox is crapping itself, walbro fuel pump. Bigger brakes with Hawk SP+ i think it is, the ones that squeal like hell all the time.
Upsolute mapping that runs like crap.

Rebuilt K03 by some local nutters, spools up with furious anger she does. All i know is they ground down some other compressor wheel and shoved it in there.

I am in the process of researching a complete rebuild of the car. However, being FWD, any more power than what i have now, isn't going to be daily driveable. The motor does need a rebuild, after 210 000km on it, it's feeling a bit tired now. It's an APU code, so i can go up in capacity quite easily, perhaps put on a GT3076, but i don't see how i'd ever be able to get that power to the ground.

Another idea i'm toying with is getting a B5 2.8 Quattro, and putting the 2.7TT from the B5 RS4 into it instead. Then going balls to the wall with it as it would not be my daily drive.

I broke it... Badly too...

Was on my way to a car show here earlier, was driving like a tool like i always do. Car started to loose power in a big way. Oil light came on for a few seconds then went off. I pulled over, started having a look around, couldn't see anything wrong. At this point i should have called for a tow...

Went on a little further, when the oil light came on half way through third gear, and then a VERY loud bang, and the engine locked up, felt like i'd jumped on the brakes. All the oil has come out at the bottom of the motor on the gearbox side. No water leaked out though. Had the car towed here. I now see that the one outer CV has pulled out almost 10mm and the engine is no longer in the correct place inside the engine bay.

I'm pretty pissed off, to say the least.

Well, i've already decided i'm going to scrap what's left of the car and get a BMW M3 CSL instead.

I just give up on this car now.

Well, it all depends on if i've damaged the chassis or subframe, i don't think i could have, but you never know. If i haven't, then i'm going to rebuild. I'm busy going through this post at the moment so see what my options are.

Ok... I'm going to keep it, i've had it since new, so i'm not going to give up on her just yet.

So i had a look now at where all the oil is coming from. It looks like the CV on the right hand side has pulled out the gearbox, hence all the oil spraying out all over the place. Engine oil is coming from the oil cooler. So by the looks of things, no serious damage... I hope. Gearbox seems to have something broken though, i can't move the lever around at all. The right CV is totally destroyed. Just bits and pieces fell out when i cut the boot open... Wheel still turns, so not the bearings. Looks like it bent the control arm though.

Get a FWD trans out of a prefacelift 2.8L. You get longer gears and an actual manual trans.

I miss my long gears.

Cell phones are clearly not designed for being used as video cameras. I'm making up an aluminium bracked that fits into my headrest, that should solve the crappy picture issue. I also won't drop it when changing gears.
