Hey guys im new to the forums and im here posting this because I have a a major problem. First my mods, carbonio cai, godspeed fmic, apr exhaust, vmr testpipe, forge dv and apr stage 2 tune. Here's the problem my CEL is on and the code its throwing is overboosting, when I punch it in 1st or 2nd the turbo seems like its choking and in 3rd and 4th gear it seems to be almost powrless, and when im in 5th and let the turbo spool I hit fuel cut and my CEL lights up. I really have no idea why this is happening is it possible that the spring in my wastegate needs to be replaced?

    Re: overboosting?

sounds like it could be a PCV or incorrectly installed DV, or maybe even your fuel rail or fuel pump. I think it will take quite a bit of trouble shooting to figure out what is wrong.

    Re: overboosting?

Do you have a boost gauge? If not, you need one by now with your mods.

    Re: overboosting?

I will retrieve the specific code tmw morning, the dv was installed properly im sure of it. Now what exactly is pcv?I have my podi gauge pod with gauge ready to be installed but honestly before I move further with and upgrades I want to get to the bottom of this. Im not sure if this is fuel related at all either but I cud be wrong.

    Re: overboosting?

What? A gauge will tell you what's going on much better than any other diagnostic tool you'll find.

    Re: overboosting?

Yeah, put on the boost gauge. Then you can see what kind of pressures you're actually running in all the different gears/RPMs.

I doubt it is the tune. There are plenty of people who have the same setup without problems. You need to do some logs on vag-com, boost actual and specified, N75 duty cycle, fuel pressure actual vs specified.

If your code is over boosting It wouldn't surprise me if the culprit was the forge valve, people have had problems with them being installed incorrectly.

Hardly........boost gauges are inaccurate and not very sensitive. VAG-COM is the best diagnostic tool.

    Re: overboosting?

the problem started before the forge dv was installed. I installed the forge dv 3 days ago thinking that my oem dv went out. unfortunately I wont have a day off until sometime next week, but I will be doing more testing. im not familiar with the pcv problem which was mentioned earlier in the thread?

True, but only one can determine what is wrong with his car because just seeing what your boosting at is only part of the puzzle thats why I was recommending logs.

hey sorry to thread jack, but how do you like your fmic? Did you have to remove the factory bumper support or anything crazy like that?
