Brake upgrade...need torque specs.

I'll be upgradeing to the 3.0 front brakes this week and replacing the rear rotors as well. So can some one give me the torque specs that I will need.... like the caliper carrier bolts and any other bolts that will need to be removed.

tight has worked fine for me twice


BTW most will be tough to break the first time

you will need a some kind of stubby allen socket for the rear carrier bolts or i used an allen key socket without the rachet-i just put a small wrench over the allen part and turned it with that...make sense?

Torque specs are in the bentley manual..you dont have the Bentley manual?

you bought the 3.0 kit new from ecs? i think thats the biggest chunk of cash ive wasted. i got no improvement with it. not to mention i waited 3 months for my rotors.

i should have saved the money and got stoptechs when they were $1500.

Once I get this done I plan to upgrade the brake lines.

yes, but you would get twice the improvement plus the looks of a BBK

mine was also about the same but i got SS lines and new motul 5.1 fluid so it was close to $1k shipped for everything. in retrospect i would have gotten a stoptech BBK for the front and new rotors/pads for the rear. it would have been like $1700 and a lot of improvement in distance and fade.

what pads did you get?

don't get me wrong I would love to have a BBK setup but I have to many other things going on right now.

Just got a quote to fence in my yard..<take a deep breath> $37,400!! ouch!
thats for 2 automated gates and powder coated steel 4' high.

yeah, I got 3 quotes and that was the cheapest.

so I think we will just do the back yard ($14k) for now.

I still want to add another 2 car garage (we have 3 car now) just for my stuff/car stuff. No toys no lawn equip, just car stuff.
