Exhaust Opinions Needed

I have sitting in my room two magnaflow 14851's, just waiting to be put on.
I have plans to go BT, but some life changes are gonna have to push them back at least another 7-8 months...and im not 100% sold on the sound of them, some clips on youtube sound pretty raspy.

My questions are this:
1) What do you think of the 14851's? Too raspy? Can they be softened up at all if so?

2) Should I get the 3" exhaust I planned to buy anyways and get everything installed and ride around with everything else stock except exhaust, or would I feel performance/mpg losses because of the big piping?

I'm already pissed that I can't go on as originally planned, but I also hate to see them just sitting in my room.

3in is the way to go if you plan on going this route.

Even 3" from turbo to 2.5" after Y split is going to be loud/rhaspy unless you use a resonator on the midpipe. Just the nature of the beast. Everyone on here has their "own" version of loud/rhaspy. This is just my opinion. But it sure will flow!

heres my setup. stock cat -> 2.5" all the way w/ 1 x 15" cherrybomb in the middle

if you want it quieter, you can slap on a muffler in place of the cherrybomb

i have the 14851's on one 12in resonator and they are very very deep no raspiness at all sounds like a big V6, love them best mufflers by far, with 2 resonators u should be fine.
