A friend said his step dad has a GTECH so if he can borrow it I am gonna do a 1/4 run with it and see what it says since I didnt get to go down the actual drag strip. Im gonna launch the car and if it locks up again I dont care! I have seen many people use them while going down the track and having extremely close times and trap speeds to what the track said, so I figure it could give me a rough idea atleast if not a very close idea. His is like 2 or 3 years old though so I dont know if they were as good back then or not, but I will see what happens.

What exactly would you consider close? Any idea what the margin of error is on them? Just curious, like .01 seconds, .1 etc. Goodluck dude.

They vary some, but there were times such as say 12.43 @ 113.6 then the Gtech said 12.41 @ 113 or 112 for example. They were extremely close being off by less than 1 mph or a few hundreths for ET in many cases.

Pretty much the same boost, it was at 24.5 and im at 23-24psi. And it was 1 gallon of VP 110 leaded mixed with just under 1/4 tank of 93. And honestly it is hard to say. It didnt feel faster but didnt feel slower either. It is so different though because it has the wastegate screaming where mine is quiet so the perception is different. I am trying to get him to get a video camera and go run on video against me.

Full interior minus the donut spare tire

Hair under 1/4 tank of 93 octane with 1 gallon of VP 110 leaded race gas

But the driver is still going to be the major factor. You guys could switch cars and run again. But the best way is still to run both cars at the track with the same driver.

I am sorry to say, but you (David) are going to be helping that guy build a new motor some time soon...

Though Chris Tapp did pull an 11.9 out his stock aeb motor running a 3071... He then built the motor and went with the 35 setup.

He already snapped a rod once and bent the exhaust valves in his head after over reving it I think.

He is trying to sell the turbo kit though now and go back to stock, but I dont think he really knows what he wants.

no, theyre just like our motors, the wristpin is different but the rods are identical... you could run a 35R with the stock motor for awhile too, until it blows up

keep in mind your 3/10ths slower just by sheer weight

That sounds pretty good then. If it was like .3 - .5 or more off I would've said it's fairly useless. Best of luck to you.
