Front Diff on 2.8l B5 Auto

So I recently noticed a leak coming form the front passenger axle seal. I ordered the seal and replaced it. Filled up the diff with gear oil, apparently it didn't have much in it because I put almost a quart in and it only holds .8 quarts. Now I get a roaring noise. Does anyone have or know of any instructions online to rebuild the center diff? I'm assuming it was out of fluid for a bit and toasted the gears or something internal.

not sure then, you may have made an error when replacing the seal.
rebuilding a differential isn't easy (been there), and will most likeley require removing the tranny. all i can say is double check everything you did for any loose bolts, etc.
the B5 S4 is like the mafia... there is only one way out!
