    Question Question for Vancouverites

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm going to be in Vancouver next month (November 14th-17th) and was wondering if anyone had suggestions of restaurants to eat at, things to do or places to go.

I've never been there before but want to get a quick taste.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Re: Question for Vancouverites

I probably can't suggest restaurants to dine at. It's all personal preference. For steaks, I personally love Pinky's and Rare. This will probably help: dinehere.ca.

Places to visit.. Stanley Park, Grouse Mountain, etc... They are all great for photo shoots. Vancouver's packed with parks.

There aren't many things you can do in Vancouver at night. Hitting clubs or going to lounges might be something you can consider if you stay up late .

Check out "Cloud Nine", it's a revolving restaurant on the top floor of a hotel on Robson St. in the heart of downtown. Although it is a bit on the pricey side, on a clear evening the views are breathtaking.

For night-clubs and that sort of thing check out Granville St. The cover charges to get in to some of these clubs is starting to get out of hand though.

Cloud Nine is also a great lounge after dinner hours.

    Thanks for the tips guys!

I'll be flying in so I'm thinking the meet wont be so easy. It would be nice to get a skidplate straight from the source though.

Nothing to do in Vancouver at night?

There is so much to do if you know where to go.

Give me an idea of what you like and I can help you plan a nice stay here.

Day one is over, I went to this club called gossip and then the casino next door. Looking to have a pint of Molson dry or sleeman. Any votes for the best Canadian beer that I should try?

Planning on taking a run around stanley park saturday (i cant make it to the meet), hopefully a ferry to the gardens in the afternoon and then a lounge in the evening.

    resturants:
La buca - good italian food, i don't like the setting tho, the tables are a little low for me (6'2") and its kinda camped, if your short and don't want a cozy atmosphere you'll like it.
Parkside resturant - best food i've had outside of switzerland, seriously, romantic, cozy, awsome.
Hamilton Street grill - best steak house hands down, (better than gotham, where bill clinton and danny divito have eaten at) and their prices are great. they use the top 3% of steaks, gotham uses the top 6%. you basically got a 1 in 3 chance of having the beast steak ever as opposed to a 1 in 6 chance, its a no brainer!
Grouse mountain - the lift tickets are $35 each, but are credited towards your meals (cheapest plate is around $50) Ive never eaten there, but its the only place you can eat and see ALL of Vancouver at the same time. theres also zip-tracking and an ice rink on the mountain too, make a day out of it, don't bother paying for parking, there are no lot attendants, lol.

    stuff to do:
    -go to stanley park
    -capilano suspension bridge
-drive up cypress mountain and check out Vancouver from the parking lot at the 1/2 way mark, theres hiking trails up there too.
-go to the british properties and check out $10,000,000 and up houses (sounds stupid, but there are some pretty nice houses there worth seeing
-go to granville island and spend the day wandering aimessly (might be abel to get a tour of granville island beer facility? never tried that just an idea)
    -go to science world
-go to the river rock casino and gamble your money away! we have some pretty nice casinos here if thats your cup of tea.
    -check out Robson street

thats about all i can think of for now.
the B5 S4 is like the mafia... there is only one way out!

try to visit Guu on Robson for some great Japanese tapas. I personally like lounging at Chivanas on 4th (across from safeway). There is a new casino in Burnaby called Grand Villa, it's gorgeous.

too early to hit the slopes, too bad....

    Another silver B6

Went to Guu with Garlic on Saturday and had a great time there as well as the rest of the trip. It was only a few blocks away from the hotel I stayed at.

I picked up a Japa Dog (the terimayo) on Monday just before going to the airport as well.

I'll definitely head back one day on way to Whistler although I would have just as much fun hanging out in Vancouver.
