Post Trying to perfect Euro S-line Xenons...

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Here's the scoop:
-I am trying to perfect my ecodes now that I have them split open and have painted the gray plastic parts inside.
-Since I already have bright HID bulbs (ecodes are brighter and have a better cutoff) I have gotten new silver coated 1156 bulbs for the turn signals and the DRLs, and I have the Ziza leds for the city light.

-I passed on doing angel eyes and LEDs because I didn't want to mess with the wiring.

Here are the pics so far:

    1. Products I used, All weather Silicone to put them back together, Gloss Black Engine Paint, Primer:

    2. Wagner Heat gun/320 grit sandpaper:

    3. Second headlight that still needs painting:

    4. Headlight with chrome insides removed and main plastic part, it is connected by 5 screws and the chrome pieces pop out when you move their tabs:

    5. "New" Ziza LED citylights AND "old" original city light bulbs, blue P21W DRL bulbs, amber turn signal 1156 bulbs:

    6. Clear plastic halves:

    7. Fog grilles I also painted gloss black, they look great on the car with the black front reflectors:

    8. Gloss black inside painted, do at least 3 light coats for full black look:

    9. First headlight finished painting, going to add one more coat of black before it goes back together for good:

Will do, the front reflectors and fog grilles are already installed and look great, can't wait to complete the look with the Hoen fogs and these bright ecodes

my lights are done the same way, just the inner part black with everything else chrome, the difference is not noticable when the light is put back together because even the stock grey appears black when shaddoed within the light, i would suggest painting the chrome pieces if your looking for a difference

Re: Trying to perfect Euro S-line Xenons...

No I don't want to do that because I want the stock look but with some black, it looks subtle but good and I need to change the bulbs and reseal the headlights anyway so what the heck.

Re: Trying to perfect Euro S-line Xenons...

After searching multply threads and websites I myslef couldn't find the DRL bulbs with silver finish. I ended up purchasing LED Drls with resistors from a German lighting co.
I can't really give any feedback since I won't be installing these till around Thanksgiving when I get a few days off from school. Also I ordered the S-Line caps from Jen.

are those adaptive headlights that you took apart? Not sure what the difference is with ecodes, but I have adaptive headlights and I want to do the clear corner and paint them, but I'm afraid of messing up the adaptive function. Does anybody know if there is a potential to mess this up? Thanks in advance.

I already have 1156 bulbs and I'd recommend autoilumination.com because they are only 5 bucks a bulb. I need P21W bulbs which no one has, maybe there is another number for the same size bulb???

    anyone??

DRL(LED) shouldn't throw out the bulb warning because the of the resistor. No soldering is needed.

Re: Trying to perfect Euro S-line Xenons...

so I the 1156 bulbs DO work in the DRL slot I just have it VAG'd so they never come on (IDK why I did this but it was months ago) so all bulbs are a go. Need to finish painting, seal them back up and drop the bumper.

Is it illegal to have turn signal bulbs that don't liight up amber?
