Lemmiwinks usb cable and vista

I cannot get lemmiwinks to work. I have downloaded the serial converter driver for the cable. I have pulled the instrument cluster fuse. No matter what I do I cannot get it to communicate with the car. Vag com works just fine. I had to run that in a compatibility mode though to make it work. Anyone have any ideas?

lemmiwinks does not work via usb, serial only. try downloading unisettings, or eurodyne's me7 tweak software. it's all the same program.

I will try these others. People have gotten lemmi to work by using serial convertors for the usb port. There are a few articles on aw I just couldn't get it to work. I will see if Ican find these other programs. thanks

Don't bother with lemmi, it's too much of a pain in the ace to get functional with usb, like buddy above says just use one of the other programs, same program but fully compatible with usb. I use ecusettings and it works great no issues at all.

I use lemmiwinks with USB all the time, and Vag-Com with a generic OBDII USB cable...

You need to install the drivers correctly. First download drivers here: http://www.jhmotorsports.com/downloa...ble_Driver.zip

Now plug in your usb cable to a port on your laptop, once you see the new hardware wizard pop up click to install the drivers manually (Advanced). Now click browse and point to the unzipped VAG-Cable_Driver folder you just downloaded. Click next. Now it will install the USB/Serial emulator. When you try to communicate with Lemmiwinks try all the COM ports.

Make sure you always use the same USB port each time to ensure correct communication. For whatever reason, Windows XP acts weird when it comes to USB/Serial and different USB ports.

If you have any problems just let me know, I can assure you that a USB OBDII cable will work with Lemmiwinks.
