Slipping clutch????

Please help me!

So I was driving down the road in 5th gear got to around 3000 rpm's and put my foot into it a little, and the engine reved up but no acceleration from the car????

Does this mean my clutch is slipping or what?

Thanks in advance for the information.

PS-I am not sure how to accurately search for this topic in the forums, for those who might mention me searching first. That is whithout reading tons of posts regarding clutches new/used/best/worst/life/slipping/etc.

yes, Try putting the car in 6th too at like 3k and floor it. If the revs go up and the car doesnt move than your clutch is slipping

Do you smell burning? Leaking coolant can cause the clutch to slip too. What kind of clutch do you have? My Stage 2 is much better now with an RS4 clutch.

I am going with South Bend Clutch and their stage 1 clutch setup. The flywheel will be resurfaced by them. It should be a night and day difference. I am also going to be replacing the seals while I am in there. Let me know what you think.
