Introducing Stern Adjustable Control Arms - Preorder Sale!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!

Introducing the new Stern Adjustable Control Arms. These adjustable length arms allow for adjustments to vehicle camber and caster settings which were previously fixed. Replacing the factory arms with adjustable ones allow correction to the vehicle alignment thereby extending tire life and improving handling. These control arms are direct replacements
and fit with no modifications necessary.

As with all Stern products, a limited lifetime warranty is offered on all hard components, and a 1yr warranty covers the bushing and ball joints.

Introductory pricing of $495/set valid until November 24.

    Available online Stern Pre-Order Special
or from your local Stern Dealer

    FAQ
    Q. Why do I need these?
    A. These arms add adjustability to camber and caster alignment settings which are otherwise fixed. Adjusting camber and caster can improve the life of tires and improve the handling of your vehicle.

    Q. What cars do these fit?
    A. Audi - B5A4, B6A4, B7A4, C5A6, B5S4, B6S4, B7S4, B5RS4, B7RS4, Allroad, RS6
    VW - B5Passat

    Q. Why are OEM bushings used?
    A. We use the OEM bushings to maintain a factory-like ride and fitment, and to keep costs low. They can also be quickly changed should the need arise.

    Q. Are these offered in a full upper and lower kit?
    A. Yes. We offer kits for many vehicles through our website.

OEM is about 4.5lbs, Stern is about 6.9lbs per set of 4 uppers.

please excuse me for my ignorance, but is each oem arm 4.5 lbs or is it 4.5 lbs per set of 4 uppers thus making oem lighter than stern?

The weights are for the set of 4 arms. Each OEM arm is a few ounces lighter than the Stern.

Re: Introducing Stern Adjustable Control Arms - Preorder Sale!

Looks like a great product except for the weight.. adding 2lbs of unsprung mass will not improve handling. Would be very nice to have front camber control though.
I've moved on from Audi to more fun, more lightweight, and more reliable products. These vehicles are so unreliable that I have been able to purchase 3 other cars in just the 6 months I have been without an Audi, due to savings alone. Other than the interiors, it won't be missed. Make a product that can hang with a spec miata in the corners, while not breaking every day past 50k miles, then look me up. Until then, you and your wack coilpacks and $37 dollar wipers can go right to hell.

Re: Introducing Stern Adjustable Control Arms - Preorder Sale!

Well, it's just a bit over 1lb on each side, and it's not entirely unsprung weight. The inner portion is fixed to the chassis through the upper spring perch so it's not technically entirely unsprung weight. The amount of which you might consider unsprung is a minimal difference, and not something that's even going to be noticeable. It's completely different than adding a lb through a brake rotor, or wheel.

We have complete upper and lower control arm kits on sale through our website now.

We already offer replacement bushings for these. Poly isn't a good option for these and won't work well unfortunately.

It did. Unfortunately some vendors have been a little slow with their production cycles. We anticipate shipping the 2nd week of December.

I like this kit - but why isn't something offered for the rear on your website? The beefier toe links for the front are great. My rear tires have worse tire wear than the fronts do.

Re: Introducing Stern Adjustable Control Arms - Preorder Sale!

Mike, will these be able to mount on a C6 A6? I've got a friend putting his car on coil overs soon and doesn't want to have to deal with excessive inner tire wear. I'm just helping him out with the research. I imagine the C6 S6 and RS6 would be the same?

Sorry, these do not fit the C6 chassis.
Completely different arms are used. These fit C5 A6 chassis only.

Re: Introducing Stern Adjustable Control Arms - Preorder Sale!

Get them if you can, I ordered mine a few days ago...received 2 days later and installed.....
Compared them to the stock...Stern control arms are far superior than the stock....great product.
Unfortunately, I bought them full price...but IMO it's worth every penny.

And if your car is lowered...it will save your tire uneven wear..like for my S4...it corrected the toes issue, now my front wheels are both even..BIG improvement.
