coil packs and chips

I am the question man. I like to ask questions because I learn. Thanks to those of you that answer my questions!!

Coil packs.. Have 70k miles.. they're due for replacement. I was looking at ECS Hitachi Stage III (comes with spark plugs too) for like $250.... are they worth it? Or are the OEM coil packs good enough?


Someone is selling GIAC chip for B6 A4... same year as my car, same transmission...

Any idea how much it would cost to have it installed on my car? Any problems you foresee (different ECU.. anything like that?)

Too much $$ for those coilpacks. Get a set from Pure MS and go to the local auto parts store for the plugs.
As far as changing out the ECU, you have the immobilizer to deal with. I think it's more of a PITA than it's worth, but someone else may have an easy way to do it. Check with the closest tuner for GIAC to you as far as installation costs.
