Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
What's up guys. I've been thinking about getting wheels for a couple months now. Want some ideas/inspiration. Please post all Dolphin grays with wheels. I guess I want to see wheel colors and what looks nice.

If there is a thread for this already,

go to a4mods.com and look through the wheel picture galleries. There's a bunch of DG cars with wheels

All wheels in GunMetal color looks great on a DG, IMO.

One thing w/ DG in particular that seems to matter w/ wheel choices is your trim package. Do you have the Titanium package blacked-out trim, or the regular aluminum?

Getting a wheel that accents the trim really seems to help w/ the overall look. I myself plan to get 18" VMR 710's in silver cuz I have non-Ti package aluminum. It'll pop!

Definitely agree that gunmetal would look sick against DG.

B7, those wheels will definitely tie the theme together nicely. Good choice!

Damnit, just poked around VMR's site and the 710's only come in 19's.......I'm not totally opposed to 19's aside from the rougher ride, which I'm not crazy about. I go to San Francisco a lot as it is, and if my girlfriend moves there, I'll be going even more regularly. Would hate to have a rough ride in that city, the road quality there is absolute shit.

I only have 18s, but from what I've read on here, the ride quality doesn't suffer much from 18 > 19. I could be mistaken though, that happens a lot. heh

    Re: Wheels on Dolphin Gray

ok, i think i'm in a somewhat unique position where i can comment on color choices on DG's + 18's vs 19's

    my first setup - 19" silver V708's:

    my second setup - 19" GUNMETAL V708's:

my current setup - 18" BBS CH's in silver:

    as you can see, i went from my stock 17's --> 19's --> 19's again --> lighter 18's

i'm not sure if it's because i shaved off a good amount of unsprung rotational mass by going with lighter 18's + lighter tires or if it it's because i went from 235/35/19 ultra low profile tires to 225/40/18's but the ride comfort improved noticeably from 19's --> 18's. it's nice having tires again (instead of rubber bands)

as for gunmetal vs silver.. GM looks good on dolphin gray if it's got some shine to it.. even then, it looks a little too monotone during the day but at night, in the right lighting, it looks super aggressive/sporty. silver looks MUCH cleaner and classier (imo) but again, not as aggressive.

to keep it short, with the right mods/touches, gunmetal can look good on DG (but it's not guaranteed). for example, my car on gunmetal rims didn't really flow until i got the blackout grill + blackout HD splitter. on the other hand, you really can't go wrong with silver

    good luck!
