    Recent S4 Buyers.. Help please!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey guys,
I am starting to get the itch to go ahead and get into an S4. It's what got me into the Audi dealership in the first place, and the more and more I list out the mods I really need (want) to do, the more sense it makes to trade into an S4 and swap over the mods I already have on my car (B7 A4). Almost all of them would work perfectly.

Anyways, I know these threads come up all too often, but I'm not simply asking for people to list what they paid for what car (although that can help too!). I want to know what kind of deals you've managed to negotiate recently. Say the past six months or so. In today's economy, with the B8 body style rolling out, etc. I feel like deals should be able to be had. Some listings have cars at up to $4k over Blue Book, when I feel like if I make an offer to pay IN CASH $2-4k under Blue Book seems more likely. Just wondering if I'm on the right track, how ya'll have done, etc. If you'd rather PM or only say how much you knocked off an asking price, it would still help a lot! I'm hoping to get into the rip-roarin' V8 exhaust note and Recaro seats soon!

be advised Paying in CASH may not be recieved so well. The dealers get cash incentives to finance vehicles through the financing company.

Thanks man. It just seems like in this economy skeptics are building every day... Curious to see what others have to say about this!

I bought the car July 29th, dealer wanted $29,500 for a 2005 B6 with 34,500 miles fully loaded -navi. I got it down to $25,500. The car just came to the lot 4 days ago and the sales guy wasn't willing to negotiate, but since it was the last 2 days of the month he was willing to make a deal so he can get his commission.

Got mine mid- June. 2005 with 46k on it, CPO'd, asking 31k. Got them down to 27k, threw in window tint 35% all the way around, the free Audi One car which covers my 55k and 65k tune ups, floor mats. Could have gotten lower probably but didnt mind much, but god damn if I had waited I could have gotten a steal now :D

kind of hard to say since you are not talking a specific style/year/options... but I am in the same place right now. I am noticing from the dealer with CPO you are going to pay about 3-4K more than the same exact car from a private party, non CPO. that is my big decision right now. pretty sure I will be going the CPO route for peace of mind. most of the B6 CPO's are bottoming at 25K from what I have seen... B7's bottoming at 29-31K CPO

Thanks for the helpful posts and PMs so far guys! Keep em coming!
I am basically looking for an 05 B6 or any B7 with less than ~35k miles. 6 speed manual, options aren't important.
Does anybody know what the CPO warranty runs if you purchase it from Audi before your factory warranty runs out on a private-party purchased car?

Have gotten a few "For Sale" PMs as well.. Those are great! This is for sure a WTB thread as well.
Not sure why I am moved into Off-Topic discussion, think this relates directly to S4s!

Re: Recent S4 Buyers.. Help please!

A dealership will only sell a car for as low as they can (or are willing to of course)... Did they trade it, buy it off lease, or buy it at auction... How much did they put into it to get it ready for sale, and how much profit would they like to make. All of this determines what they would sell the car for.

Nonetheless... don't worry so much about numbers until you look at the car, drive the car, and get a feel for it. When you do this, you can determine what the car is worth to YOU. If you would pay more for one over the other due to ptions, condition, mileage, color, etc... then you will end up buying the right car at the right price for YOU.

I just bought a 2005.5 S4 for right around $29k, it was loaded with about 26k on it... CPO'd, new tires and brakes... spotless interior, I would say very good exterior (no dents, just needed a good polish and wax)... I took advantage of the 3.9% finance from Audi FS also. I was searching online for a few months till I got this one. It's original list price was $32,990.

Last month I found my '04 Nogaro w/ Blue alcantra, htd seats, multi function wheel with 43,050 miles on it...

It didn't have rear shades, rear side air bags, and on star

    They listed it at 26,995...

And I got them down to 23,800

I also financed it with 4k down on the car

So, you should be able to get them down quite a bit.....

I used to work at a volkswagen dealership and all their used cars were fluffed on average 3-4k on what they owned it for

    Good luck on the purchase!

Re: Recent S4 Buyers.. Help please!

This has been extremely helpful guys, I really appreciate all of the advice posted and PMed! It sounds like I can potentially get a B7 for <$30k which is great. Not that I have any problems with the B6! The only reason I ever went into the Audi dealership was to drive a red B6 S4 that I had seen on their website...

August 2008. 2005 Arctic White B6 S4 w/ black/silver alcantara, CPO, 35750 miles, Tiptronic, Premium, Nav, XM Bose, power rear sunshades, new Hankook 4es Ventus tires. $27,950 + 6.25% tax shipped to TX.

Could've had something for cheaper but really wanted the CPO and Arctic White color.

In actuality, I think they sold me the car for $27,000 (quoted sale price was $27,500) and took the $950 hit for shipping to Texas. The dealer was Audi North Scottsdale in Arizona. Looking up quotes from online auto shippers, $1000 seems to be the norm for shipping to TX from AZ.
