Ebay Headlights Don't Flame Me..... : (

Has anybody bought these headlights and used the stock H.I.D with these housings? I'm thinking about getting them but not sure if they will work with my 2001 a4 I have the stock xenon HiD.

wont work with the HID kit unless you do a LOT of modding. even then, the quality on them is not that good. I have them on my car now and am seriously thinking about getting rid of them. They are definitely not plug n play like the ad says, required a bit of soldering and time trying to figure out what goes where.

So you already have good projector lights with HIDs and you want to rip them out and put in $99 lights instead?

The GOOD news is that you could MAKE money off this mod if you decide to proceed despite us telling you not to. Shitty ebay lights cost you 100, you could probably sell your good OEM HID lights for 2-300.

The quality on those projectors will not be very good, and the light output from them is going to be a BIG BIG step downward.

Also stock HID uses a D2S bulb and these probably use H1 bulbs so you can't switch it over. In addition to that H1 projectors respond very poorly to HID's due to the optics of the projector and where the bulb sits.

There are sooo many reasons that this is a bad idea...

I wouldn't do it.. like someone else said you already have good headlights and the power output with these will be crap compared to what you have. If you wanted to use the stock HID with those I would imagine that would require a lot of modding to the headlights that you probably don't have the patience for.

On a side note I don't see why people care about what others do to their cars.. if you don't think it looks good then that's fine but why insult somebody because they have different tastes? Makes no sense to me.

It's your car.. you're the one that has to drive it so don't listen to other peoples opinions on style.. IT'S YOURS. Do what you want.

I have those exact headlights, Ill trade for your stocks. Mine are tinted with vht night shades, which is removable with a product like brakleen.

i have these headlights too. The previous owner put them in so don't yell at me. They look decent IMHO but their light output is $hitty to say the least. Its impossible to aim them and had i been given an opportunity to chose between stock and these i would take stock in a heart beat. Up to you, but i wouldnt do it. Rhino i don't know how you see anything with the tint diminishing the already poor light output...

Well I'm not to sure I want these now if i'm going to have to mod them to work with stock HID. But I already bought a tint kit for fogs, headlights,and tailights.

Hid's.... And actually I could see just fine with the stock bulbs with the tint.

This reminds me of the thread when "Yaktizzle" wanted to put a hid kit on his car when it already had oem hids and he ordered them and was asking questions because he cant get them to work.
