can a 1.8t from a 03 passat work on a 03 audi a4 1.8t...both are tranverse engines...some shed some light on this issue

no, both are longitudinal engines

yes, itll work fine but youll need to reuse your B6 fuel rail

so the passat 1.8t motor will bolt up to the tranny...thats my main concern

im looking for a sludge free complete block...AMB of course...know anybody that has one...i have a 2003 a4 1.8t...thats why i posted a thread...theres a 2003 passat motor at a local auto recycling shop

The passat motor is the same block... John (Condo) has a CHEAP complete 1.8T, he might have sold it but maybe not

like mentioned, the block should be the same, but you need to re-use the returnless fuel system from the b6

Just throwing it out there, Auto and Manual blocks are different.
