how do i remove this antenna "avant"

you do have to take the headliner off, there is a nut inside the car holding the antenna...

You can possibly just drop the back of the headliner and get to it, like the back half of it rather then dropping the whole thing. I do that a lot on cars when I have to take antennas out at my shop. Just dont bend the headliner so far that you crease it

I was able to remove the dome lamp and gain access to the mounting bolt on my 99. the cable is still there but you might be able to loosen the bolt enough to move the antenna out of your way
