Went to the track (1/8th mile) yesterday and ran my best time to date

Since not to many B6's, now-a-day make it to the track with breaking i decided to take mine.

Unfortunately we only have a 1/8th mile.

And yes, my car is completely stock (software wise) so bear with the slow times:

    "Mods"
    -Custom FMIC (ebay)
-Testpipe (stock DP and exhaust though)
    -No passenger or rear seats
    -55lb 19" wheels.....
    - 6'4" 265lb driver

Best times where all in one run:
    60': 2.108
    ET: 10.065 @ ~70mph

For some reason I cannot muster a 2.0 60' like I used to. I am guessing it is because my old wheels were 49lb 18" wheels and now I have these 55ln 19" wheels. Also, I was running 2.0 60' when I had the stock 97k mile clutch. I havent been able to get a 2.0 ever since I got the OFE clutch....wierd

What do you all think for a stock car? Seems like every other stock A4 is running a 10.5-ish......

    You'd have about a 15 flat on the 1/4 .. that's really good

Actually it would be around a 15.5-15.6 seeing that you multiply the 1/8 ET by 1.55 to get the 1/4 ET for our awd cars.

Thanks, but the closest 1/4 mile tracks is like a 3 hour drive!

Mike, seems right. I would run about a mid-15 second run, which is just below par for a 1+ chipped car! (According to that MJBdatabase)

I really want to run a 9.999 or lower, and get a 1.9 60'....that would make me super happy! I think I need to run lighter wheels that will definetly help me out

Guess my stock 105k mile car is running stong

At least you made it to the track. Ran it, and drove it home. There's probably people who say they will go to the track but never actually make it.

Well I think the biggest issue comes down to the fact that most people just don't have the patients to wait 1-3 hrs to make a pass and maybe only making a hand full of runs.

Nothing wrong with running 1/8th mile with a stock, K03 or even K04 setup. At that point running the 1/4 mile will feel like it is taking forever seeing that the car isn't going to be running 100+ mph traps.

BTW did you pump up your 19's to 45+psi?

No. I had them at daily pressure which is ~36-38psi. I used to pump up to 50psi on my 18" but didnt feel like it was really worth it

Probably going to the track, in a week or two. Like I said I want to see a 9.xxx what can i do? Unfortunatly the 19" are all i have.

Should help with the 19's to really reduce traction and allow then to spin a little.

Correct me if i am wrong, but why would i want the wheels to spin. I can get my wheels to spin no problem from a launch (not much, but enough to hear and see), but everytime I do that i have got like high 2.1 60'. I am not bogging the launch what so ever, but I am not spinning the tires either....

Last time I spun the tires at the track (I could swear it was the front tires, but my friend watching at the box, assured me it was the rears ) anyways, I ended up with a 2.2

Because it keeps you from bogging and thats the last thing you want to do. Even if you spin the tires the car will move forward. If you are getting 2.1 60 ft times your most likely bogging the car enough that the rpms drop and then start climbing again.

Increase tire pressure will also help once the car is going since there will be less rolling resistance.

I'll keep that in mind, next time I head out there.

As for that 2.1 60' if anything i migh have slipped the clutch. I didnt bog at all with that launch. I remember because it was my last one of the night, lol
