Please explain why you would need heat treated or hardened Al? The pipe will not experience any significant amount of heat or stress so any treatment be a waste of money. The UTS of cheap cheap Al is 16 ksi with a shear of 10 ksi. Considering that it only has to withstand the moment generated by the intake this is more than enough strength.

Yep - thinking the same thing... Could DIY the whole thing with just 2 silicone bends and a joiner for ~$60. Plus it will give the necessary flex for a fixed MAF/airbox installation.

I will take some pics and post them soon.

    Excuse my english, gramer......

All I did was take an existing intake tubing that I had laying around from my jetta. http://weapon-r.com/english/index.ph...oducts_id=5475 < that was the kit I bought. I cut the left end of the main tube (as shown on link) just before the bracket peace that sticks out. The exact length of the tube will differ due to different length of the cone filter ppl use, but the elbow angle of the tube on the left side is near perfect. The only material I bought was a silicone coupler 3"(tube side)-2 1/2"(turbo inlet side). All other parts such as 3"-3" couplers used for my entire custom intake system was re-used from the kit mentioned above, minus the K&N cone filter. Installation should be self explanatory, if you are filmier with the cone air filter install.

In terms of results: quicker turbo spool (I think), sound of spool is more evident inside the car, deeper exhaust note from out side of car and more woosh sound during air intake. Most results are minimal but noticeable. Plus the sexy factor of shiny tube vice black rubber hose.

The only thing I may change will be instead of using regular hose claps, I will use clamps like GSGs.

    I love AZ!
