    B6 Euro Taillight Question

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey Guys,

So one of the first things I want to change on my S4 are the taillights. I have seen these (see link below) on a few B6's and I really like them. But before I go off and buy them I have a quick question: Of you guys out there who have these, are you still able to have the "rear fog light" option? They look like they have the bulb section on both housings, but I'm unsure. Let me know, thanks!

yea those lights are def a lil ugly. they scream out rice rocket alil too much. i actually just smoked a hooked up civic that had similar led tail lights. I also saw them on a gti and almost slapped the kid bc I had a mk4 before myS4 and would never think of putting those nasty things on. Save yourself the 240 bucks and just either tint ur tails if u really wanna do something to them or change your turn signals to pure white led bulbs ro blue.

yea but come one in ny the only people that put those after market led lights on there cars are people with rice buners. we drive audi's if they wanted led tails the would have been on the car like they did with the bmw m3 in 2002.5 audi would have switched over too if they felt they were needed

Oh yeah, they're really riced out looking -

These are one of the most popular mods for B6's and if you get a set with good fitment, you will NOT be disappointed.

    Re: B6 Euro Taillight Question

The color of the B6 tails have always been something I'm not too big a fan of. They are a little too orange and cheep looking compared to newer tail lights. At night they are rather week too. I think the overall design is perfect...if they were just a little darker red I'd be very happy. As for the LED tails, I think they look just fine, especially on lighter cars. You will have to install resistors though to eliminate the bulb out code. I know a guy with a set off his old S4. If you if you want them, I should be able to get you a decent price. PM me.

not to thread jack but on the white s4, why is the antenna cover still white and not blacked out? too hard to put body wrap? couldn't you just buy an oem part and paint it black?

i agree with S4J....deep red with LEDs would look stunning!!! that clear/chrome top looks ok but all red with LEDs would make for a cleaner look....nice tho :)

    Re: B6 Euro Taillight Question

I find the LED upgrade looks very classy!

One aspect of the LED lights people tend to forget though (and this is really non factor for anyone who doesn't see snow in the winter) is that LED don't produce enough heat to melt snow and ice that cover the lights like the incandescent bulbs do. So if your driving through a storm or even a day where there are snow drifts... your tail lights will be covered and then people behind you have no idea if your stopping, turning or anything!

I just dont like the safety risk they cause in winter driving.

    Re: B6 Euro Taillight Question

hey guys, thanks for all the insights and opinions. Look, i'm not trying to be anything like a tuner, nor am I going for that look...but the taillights are something that have always bothered me with the B6's. I just feel for the car, they stand out to the point that they distract from such a beefed up & down right sexy rear (but then again, I think it depends on the color of the car...i.e. ZachPDX, on your Brillant Red B6 the lights blend nice, but on others not so much).

Now, I have honestly thought about tinting all the red and just leaving the clear as is, and I would make it a do-it-yourself project with Nightshade, but i'm worried about screwing them up all together. With the LED's they're a simple upgrade, and will just add to one of the many things I plan to do to make my B6 my own having just picked up my S4 a few weeks ago, and I think you all can understand where I'm coming from...

And I'm still looking for the answer to the one question I started the thread with: anyone who has these LED's, do you still have the "rear foglight" option built into these housings? It's important because I drive to work early in the AM (most fog prone) and back home late at night and around most roads without street lights so I really need to be seen considering my B6 is black. Let me know, thanks guys.

No your right, I was thinking about that when I walked out to my car this morning. It blends really well with my red so I like it, but i see your point on other colors.

I like the LED aspect of the lights you posted I'm just not a fan of the clear top part, makes me think "altezza's" to much.

    Re: B6 Euro Taillight Question

I remember there being an Audi A4 (or S4) that was in Eurotuner back in the day. It was darker gray with Oetty EVERYTHING It had these tail lights, too. At the time they were custom, maybe a bit different, but IMO, they looked absolutely stunning on his car. I wouldn't rock them just because my S is silver. If you could delete the orange bulb, they'd look better.

S4_speed, more-than-likely you'll still be able to have the rear fog. All the bulbs and harnesses would plug right in.

ZachPDX, thanks for the honesty and I have to agree with you, the top part is "altezza-ish" but of all the upgrades I found (which as well all know is alot less than those for the A4's) this was one that seemed refined but better than the original...I still haven't decided on what I am going to do, but If I get them or just tint, I'll post before & afters and hear what everyone thinks....what upgrades, if any, have you done?

If I got them, I'd probably change out the orange bulb with some whites....Yea, thats what I was thinking too, seems to have all the right connections and sectioned off part for the rear fog light, I'm just curious of what others who have them have done b4 i go and buy them...thanks for the help!
