    Spark Plug Replacement

We have 52 K on our 2006 A3, 2.0 L FSI, and the check engine light just came on. I used the fault code detectpr at a local parts store, and it says we have a P0302 error, which means "cylinder misfire detected in the second cylinder".

Anyone had this before? If you have, did replacing the spark plugs solve the problem? Finally, how do you get to the spark plugs? I assume I have to pull off the black plastic engine cover... not sure how to do that either, but I haven't spent much time trying to figure it out yet.

    Thanks in advance!

Misfire is usually a coil pack. They are a known problem on the 2.0t. The easiest way is to swap a coil with another cylinder and see if the misfire code is thrown for the cylinder you swapped it out with.

    Re: Spark Plug Replacement

Thanks for the quick direction to the posts that show me how to remove the engine cover and the plugs. I appreciate your help!

We've noticed no degradation in performance or mileage, or any rough idling, so I'm hoping the coil hasn't failed. I'll see if new plugs make a difference.

    Thanks guys!
