    Problem with Dash Lights

I'm hoping somebody can help me out, this has been an on going problem that I just can't figure out.

A while back I had an APR center vent boost gauge installed. Everything on it works and does its job. Then about a few months ago while driving at night I noticed the light on the boost gauge and the lights on the vent controls started to flicker....eventually turning off and never coming back on. Today I tried to fix the problem again but I can't track it down. The side vent lights work just fine. I tested the power behind the center vent and there is no juice. I tried to look as far back in the center vent as I could and I didn't see anything that looked bad. My problem is I don't know where to go from here. Does anybody have any suggestions on what could be the problem? I originally figured that the side vent lights and the center vent lights would be on the same circuit but it kind of doesn't seem that way anymore.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Is that a question of who installed it?
If so, neither. It was installed by my mechanic I always take my car to. He tried tracing the wire as well and couldn't find the problem. He's trying to get a copy of the wiring schematic for the car so he can figure out the next spot to look.

I'm starting to think it's a blown fuse maybe. Anybody know what fuse powers the center vent lights?

Know any place I can download a good wiring diagram so I can try to trace the wires and find the short? I checked everything behind the vents and everything seems to be in tact, so if I do have a short it's gotta be farther behind the dash and I'm not sure where the wires are run.

    Thanks

    Thanks for the post man.

When you said your entire dash illumination was out, was that every vent light and everything on the dash?

mine is only on the center vent that the lights went out.

But thanks again for that post, I now have a wiring diagram to figure out

see that's the weird part, only thing out on mine is the lights on the vent adjusters and the light on the boost gauge. Everything else lights up just fine.

Just in case, where did you get your replacement chip and how much was it?
