What are the best driving lights?

I need to get some driving lights for my Coupe GT. The stock headlight housings should be illegal for the lack of light they put out. Its seriously dangerous driving at night. I pretty much decided to get these Hella 550 lights. I thought about the Hella 500, but I'm not sure about that big ass round light on my bumper. What do you guys think are the best out there? Should I just stick with Hella or a different brand? I'm only willing to spend up to $100 for this purchase btw, otherwise I'd just get E-Code housings and be all good.

I already have some hella 500's on my 4000 mounted on the bumper right in front of the grill. they are extremely epic when it comes to putting out light, so i wouldnt reccommend getting them if you want to have them on all the time, other drivers might not appreciate that. the 550's are like foglights right? so they shouldnt be as bright as the 500's?? ...correct me?

either way. the 500's will only easily mount to the bumper, but the 550's I think will fit well down in the grill down below in the bumper.

You can get the 550s in driving or fog housings. I'm looking to get driving light housings for my car. I'm assuming they put out less light than the 500s simply because of the size difference of the reflectors. Are you saying that you wouldn't drive around in town with your 500's on since they're so bright?

Our Outback has had Hella 500 fogs for years and I'm not impressed. I've got their FF75 driving lamps on my A4 and they are very nice. I'll be switching to the FF75 fogs when the low beams get upgraded to 55w hids.

I've been looking at the FF75 driving lights too. I like the design, but I wonder if the 550s would be brighter still.
