Autothority Pitstop in Alexandria

One of my buddies mentioned them to me. Have any of you guys been there before? Any reviews? The shop seems pretty similar to Funktion Auto out in Dulles.

Ive heard from several track monsters that authority is the best place to go for alignments and corner balancing. They do amazing work from what i hear, i have yet to take my car to them though.

I was actually looking into taking my car there for an alignment. Do you know how much it would cost?

youd have to ask them, but if you drive VERY aggressive on turns, id recommend a corner balance.

If not, a regular alignment, youd have to ask em :)

porsche pitstop / (old autothority) Is an awesome shop for us speed freaks in our german supercars........I trust them with any german car...they've done incredible work on my boys 997 tt....and my cousins 07 cayenne turbo...they're an excellent performance provider....

I took my Lexus is300 and '01 Jetta to them a LONG time ago when they were in that area in VA by that skating rink. Very good work from what I remember (I'd recommend them) 

^ That's Autothority in Fairfax City. Its a block from Fairfax Ice Arena. All their parts in the showroom lean towards a more ricer crowd, but their shop cars were a nicely modded MkIV GLI and a Porsche. Albeit this was probably over 5 years ago.

Taken my A4 there for suspension and clutch work. Highly recomended. Usually go to NGP by my house, but Pitstop is by by work
is it still on Eisenhower in Alexandria?

Interesting - I too work in Alexandria (near Hoffman building) and live in Lorton (5 mins from NGP). I'll be at NGP this Saturday actually - never been to Autothority - will check them out some time.

They just quoted me $660 (440 install+220 alignment) for install and alignment.. seems a bit steep to me... what do you all think?

ehhh..i'd search around a little bit more see if you can't find an cheaper place. but you got to figure it what they said about labor charges. 110/hr so that would be about an hour per and 2 hours for alignment i dunno.

They are not a cheap place by far, but they do good work. I usually take my car to them for the things that i don't want to worry about later. i would not use them for just scheduled mx because i said they are not cheap. i have been going to them for about 7 yrs. 2 audi's one porsche. The main shop is now in chantilly however they still have the one in Eisenhower. The owner works out of the one in chantilly so that is the one i go to.

i delt with them back in 2000. had a BAD experience, but i fail to believe if theyve been around that long and this many good reviews that its that bad anymore. so check it out. let us know
