    Hey Everyone,
I'm new here. Just purchased an 2004 A4 1.8t USP. Been wanting this car FOREVER!
There's a sticker on the side molding. "Speed Technik Tuned"
I'm thinking the car may have been chipped before. Who knows, maybe its just a decal. If it was chipped, can anyone tell me how i would figure it out. I know some operate thru the cruise control button....

    Re: New Here

if it's only a little bit slow, its chipped. If it's really slow, its stock.

get a vagcom and log the boost. you will know if you chipped. OEM boost is in the 7-9psi area.

    Re: New Here

Congrats on your new purchase. You may be able to bring it to a tuner near you and have them check it for you. Or you can dyno it. Other than that, do a search. I remember this question being asked before although I do not remember all of the answers.

    Re: New Here

Welcome to the forums. A boost gauge will also help you figure things out and are easier to operate than vagcom.

    Re: New Here

Holy $h!t... It's definitely chipped. I tried the APR instructions. It switches thru the programs with the flashing check engine. I just gotta figure out which program is what. I must have been running the fast program from the start. First attempt at switching program and it was totally slower! One of them the car doesn't start.
