maybe make the car run a bit smoother, but i don't really see how adding 15-20 more HP to a 4000+ car would even be noticeable, but it wouldn't hurt to ask someone that has it , or call GIAC. good luck!

I think he he is asking about the TIP chip for the tranny, which Gigi has it, and proclaims much crisper and quicker shifts. If not, then sorry, don't have either anyway.

Ya, they have a regular tuning chip which only gets about 12-15hp gain, and the TIP chip.

I would try the tranny recode if you already haven't. Not that it really makes the shifts faster like the chip. It seemed to shift better for me though, and helped with my low speed downshifts.

I knew one guy locally that had the tip chip on his A6. He said it wasn't worth the $500. I drove it, but couldn't really tell. That was before I had a TIP A6.

Yes - that is exactly what I am talking about. there is no HP gain, but the shifting is supposed to be smoother and faster than the normal shifting.

I know VAST performance makes them for the A6 2.7t. They have 3 stages, the stage 3 is the good one that makes a difference. Its cheaper than GIAC i believe. I did my research on it and talked to them about it and it gets rid of the torque limiter so more power gets transferred to the wheels and it changes the shift delay from 1 sec to .2 sec

king - how do you like the unitronic chip? i was considering getting one since they are the only ones who make one for the S6. Is it noticeable? Were they able to do anything about the lag in shifting or the driveability?

    Pretty acurate description of benefits.
VAST stg3 is defnitely worth it and it used to be $350 I think.
VAST makes one for the 4.2... I think they may be able to customer build you one if needed.
