Who's chip are you running and do you have a transmission "hunting" problem? I'm currently running stock but have the j box with giac engine chip and also the tip chip. I'm disappointed in the set up due to the fact that it still has the gear hunting issue. Is there an engine chip that is milder than the giac chip that doesn't have the gear hunting issue? If so, which one, and might someone have one for the j box for sale.

no experiance with your issues, but have you tried the sport shifting program? its 00032 in vag-com I programmed it in and noticed my car shifts alot more logically now and actually seems to shift a little smother when I drive normally.

i only ever got gear hunting when I was running my tip chip, and it was only on the shift from 4th to 5th, and only when i was doing 120+ mph... i'm not knocking the tip chip, I'm actually a huge fan of it, but to me this seemed to be the only drawback.

I have been running ams/abt engine chip for 5 years 50K miles and never had gear hunting issue with this one.

Would definitely recommend this to TIP cars. Reduce torque # for better reliability.
