Flashing Temperature Warning Light after Coolant Flush

Hey, some friends and me flushed the coolant on my 96 A4 V6, cause the coolant was full of water and junk (used, had the car about 6 months, never checked the coolant)

So we flushed it out with water, etc, and as we were doing this, in the quadrant in the middle with low gas, low oil, etc, the Temperature warning one was flashing, but it would go off though.

We figured it was air bubbles, etc, which there were tons, we got about 3-4 buckets worth of yellowish-muck before we started getting clear water then we put in the actual coolant.

But, after we took it for a drive, the temperature warning would come on, and start flashing non stop, and now it will not go off.

    Any ideas?

The engine doesn't appear to be overheating though, the temperature gauge stays in the middle at 90c which is normal, because that's where it's always been.

could it be the fluid level sensor? maybe the clip on the bottom of the reservoir came loose or the fluid went lower since the air bubble came out

    Running only on Amsoil fluids.
Amsoil products at wholesale pricing... Ask me how!

I've always had problems with the coolant on my car. Did you drain the water out completely before adding the new G12 coolant...? If not, that's probably the problem. For some reason, if i have any water left in the system after flushing, it goes mad and starts spraying out all over the place if i drive the car hard. Now i drain totally by taking a compressor and pushing all the water out of the system using that. I open up various places to make sure i get every last drop out. Then i fill up with only the G12 Plus which i get from the dealership.
