so i plan on taking my rear rings off and painting them black tonight. im wondering how everyone whos done this has re-attached them? did you have to get all the old glue off first then use more glue? or is it possible to reheat the old glue and use that? thanks in advance.

Clean the glue/tape off, apply fresh tape and trim, paint the rings, let dry overnight and install in the morning.

make sure u get the thinnest 3m trip tape u can find.. also make sure that u cut the tape to fit within the edges of the bottom side of the rings so it cant be seen once installed

    Re: re-installing rear rings?

i stopped by the dealer last night, to see on buying a new set of rear rings from them, since i just debadged mine off last weekend, they wanted 32 bucks. figure i'll search ebay a lil first.

i have my stock ones still, in fine shape, but not sure about putting new tape on the back and how well it'll stay. where are you guys buying the ultra thin 3m tape? i have some double sided tape, but it's nothing i would trust to hold the rings on..

and if you know of anywhere selling the rings for cheaper. lemme know..

also, i'm painting mine black as well, but haven't decided to go with flat black paint, or plasti=dip paint like i did my trunk trim and front grill surrounds..
