honestly depending on the boost level and wether or w/m was used. Building your engine to 2.0 specs is impratical. A $3000.00 build for an extra 30whp

first of all. it doesn't cost $3000.

and second, you don't build a 2.0l for more peak power.

don't punish us just because of the high elevation. they are "corrected" numbers for a reason

you build it to shift the powerband to a more desireable spot. also to add more power under the curve

you guys wouldn't understand this down at sea level.

my 28rs at my 4300+ft spools similarly to a 3076r does at sea level.

it's sad. i would not go larger than a 28 series turbo without more displacement.

which is exactly what jordan did

Correct. My guess is that the dyno added around 18-21%, which would put him around 300 or just under. Cant really use corrected numbers without knowing how bad you are pushing the turbo out of its effiency map.

    Correct FTL.

Now we just have to wait and see what he puts down on the dynojet.

Wake up, even jordan says he only uses uncorrected numbers now since he doesn't live in the perfect condition at sea level, but then not many people do. The dyno he ran on this morning would only give him corrected readings.

I am just like anyone else here that wants to know what he actual makes not what he "might" make.

He dyno'd 328WHP in NorCal but it was not under optimal conditions. I am sure DenverNoob will chime in soon but Jordan did make 50WHP more than he did on the same dyno.

Word on the street is that the Superflo dyno has about a 28% drivetrain loss since it is a large roller, eddy current dyno.

This puts Jordan right at 500BHP corrected.

If we can get Charlie to dyno his bone stock Avant, it will be possible to get a baseline to use for correction factors.

Re: New numbers to shoot for...

Can the GT2871r even produce enough air to support 500bhp?

That 2.0 liter GTI from eurocode only made around 450bhp at sea level.

Greg no one is saying they are not happy for him. But corrected numbers aren't the way to show how much power the car is making.

You wouldn't use a correction for 1/4 mile times now would you?

Since Jordan knew this would raise a bunch of controversy he went to a DynoJet today too...

    Just got off the dyno

    420WHP/406WTQ corrected...

This is the same dynojet that he used when the car was 1984cc with the GTRS, FWIW he gained 72WHP over that setup.

Nice numbers. But still sounds a bit high seeing that the fully built 2 liter GTI with the exact same turbo could only muster up 400fwhp at sea level.

Jordan will post up all of the graphs and even the raw dyno files so you guys can dissect the shit out of them and tell him why his setup is all fucked up.

Thats what I figured he would be making seeing that his correction would be right around 1.18-1.20 and a 6600 ft DA.

Re: New numbers to shoot for...

numbers and plots will prob not be available until monday. we are waiting to have them emailed to us from the shop that dyno'd the cars. we will then have access to both corrected and uncorrected versions, as well as be able to overlay charts (not winpep, superflow has their own software).

    more to come.

FWIW, Superflow is a FAR more conservative dyno as evidenced in this case. VERY expensive equipment for the tuning market as far as dynos are concerned. most of the other numbers on other vehicles we saw that day were well within what we anticipated them to be...nothing really far off the mark based on dynos like dynojet that people think blow things a bit out of proportion. Im sure given actual road environments with proper air flow provide a "real"number that lies somewhere in the middle.
