    a little dissapointed

So ive had my A4 1.8 for about two weeks now, and i dig it. the only real issue that i have with it, is power. It seems not to pull very well for a turbo? throttle response is pretty bad, and the the brakes seem to not stop as well as i thought they would. Its an 04 fully stock automatic? I really wanted the 3.0L but couldnt find a decent one. Another issue is that when im turning the steering wheel i hear a wierd noise, almost like a metal clunking sound? what is that?

    Re: a little dissapointed

ha ok well the beast is lacking a manual tranny, but seriously....you should look into a tune (APR, GIAC, or REVO). These cars are a dog stock, period. There is some work to be done to make it quick, i could go on and on about what you could do, but instead, here is a link that you should read into thoroughly and it will resolve your lack or power issue. And the steering thing, it could be a number of things, i'll let the experts help you out with it.

I also assume your car is FWD by looking at the pics of your previous post? Im sorry bro but you might have been better off with a jetta.

    good luck

yep, you need some software to really enjoy thie engine. i'm happy with the GIAC FX program. it requires larger injectors.

the 1.8t and 3.0 are not fast, you have to realize that. A good option is definitely the chip, that should be the first thing you do unless you're looking to go BT.

    Re: a little dissapointed

Like they are saying, get a chip and a new DV. The clunking sound may be a bad wheel bearing. I just changed a bad one and the noise was gone. Good luck.
