    diy clutch install

My clutch is starting to slip... car studders when going on a roll. I figured its time to change (and upgrade) the clutch. i've been reading the DIY clutch installs from audigeeks and a4mods, but how different would an install be on a FWD than quattro? looks like for FWD i wouldn't have to drop the exhaust...
any DIY pros up for some tips?

    Re: diy clutch install

Getting the exhaust out of the way makes it easier to get to some of the bolts along the side of the transmission, and makes it alittle easier to get the trans back in. Also it comes out in a couple minutes so it does not add that much time, its pretty easy. There are 11 bolts not 9, makes sure you get an alignment tool with your clutch kit. make sure you have new flywheel and pressure plate bolts, and you will need a triple square to remove the axles and the flywheel. I believe you will need a 10mm and 12mm triplesquares.

Only diference is that you wont have to unbolt the driveshaft, the rest is the same.

IIRC the bolts on the front axles is a 8mm triple square.

i second the exhaust thing. its only a few bolts anyway. Honestly, ive done the clutch and just recently changed the tranny... it's pretty simple.
