B6 anti-rusting, should we treat it or not?

A fellow Audizine friend mentioned to me that he heard Audi applies an anti-rust treatment on our cars at the factory, and that we should not really do any anti-rust treatments since it might make things worse than better. Does anyone know for a fact anything related to that and if we should actually go ahead with the anti-rust treatments or not?

Keep it clean. More than likely the people most concerned of a rusting car/ frame clean their car a lot. Therefore it won't rust. A freak would keep their frame cleaned and greased up protecting it from outer elements.

I don't know if it is lifetime and there is a loop hole in thier warranty. They only fix the problem if it is a hole eaten threw the body (I believe). So surface rust doesn't count.

As far as I know, all car manufacturers put a rust protection layer on the body at the time of manufacture. It's part of the painting process for everyone. Years ago it wasn't and people made money doing it in the aftermarket but now I'm pretty sure it's standard.

12/23/09 - My car has been phenomenal to me. Runs strong. Don't think I'm ever going to sell it. Rather throw $7k into it for a refresh than buy a new A4 that has no dipstick.
    12/5/10 - 100k miles & counting!
    9/22/13 - 146k+ & running strong w/a new TB, water pump, etc.
