CVT vs. 6SPD

i have a cvt a4 2.0t and my friend has a 6spd quattro. when we race he always beats me but we have all the same mods. why is his car faster than mine?? any ideas to make my car faster.

weird.. i've got a cvt 1.8t and was atleast a car or two up on a quattro when i was stock

It must be the mods.

CVT FWDs are quicker than 6 speed Quattros. the CVT optimizes the powerband better and since its FWD it has less weight and more wheel HP/TQ.

That being said, 6 speed quattros are still much more fun.

if both of you are chipped, maybe the tuners have diff chips for diff trannys maybe a lil less hp for your cvt? just guessing here
