Child lock problem

Ok so since i had my car, the drivers side rear door is stuck on child lock, even when i move the little child lock switch.

This never bothers me, but occasionally ill have to move my seat up and let someone sit (crammed) behind me, but they cant get out without rolling down the window and opening it from the outside.

Anyone have any idea what is involved in fixing this?
I imagine i will need to remove the door panel, and look around to see if anything is broken.

Anyone ever had this problem?
Insight? Tips?

um if the car is running you have to pull the handle twice to open it

Thats a setting in Vag com not from factory... at least I think. I know you can set it to lock the doors at a certain speed and to unlock all on one button press of the remote.
