    APR ECU Question

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Is there a way to "sell" or trade someone my ECU off my B7 A4? it has most of the APR programs, except the valet one.

Since its a lease, i want to give back the car completely stock. How would a transfer of ECU's work? and would there be any vin number implications? km's readout change? etc...

    your experience is appreciated

    Re: APR ECU Question

I went with GIAC. When it was time to return the car - back to stock, I had the tuner flash my ECU back to stock.
My understanding is the the software is VIN specific. Swapping ECUs might be a hassle when having the car serviced.

    Re: APR ECU Question

the software says with the vin number. BUT when u service...i tell them "dont touch my ecu" and so it should stay..lol

but im not sure if a direct swap of an ecu would work...

I think you'd run into problems with the immobilizer. The Dealer CAN reprogram it, I think.
