when i first bought my car i really had my mind set on an awe non-res and i waited and waited for about 3 months then i got sick of hearing "we will have them in about 2 weeks" and just pulled the trigger on a F.I. catback with 8" res x-pipe and i must say looking at the quality of the F.I. im glad i went with them however i do think its still a bit quiet and not as in your face as the AWE but sometime in spring im either going to get dps or contact danny and see if there is a way to get just the x pipe section with no resonators so i can change them out whenever i desire to.

Agree with everyone that you need to search and listen to clips
Fast intentions is on the top of my list for multiple reasons other than the subjective one of great deep sound especially with down pipes.
-Quality of the material used and the welding
-Danny is a great guy and stands by his product even past the warranty period.
You will not go wrong with him.

None of these is the best. Best is MTM. Everything else is a step down. Sound is a very subjective thing too. None of the choices you have listed sound bad. Non-res will always be louder give you some degree of drone. While it sounds great when you are in that "performance mood", for everyday driving, it can get annoying.

just because it costs and arm and a leg doesnt make it the best. it just means that mtm can market it to tools who think spending a shit load on an exhaust actually gets you the best prodect.

I'm really not getting involved in the "MTM charges too much for what it is" discussion. However, 91GL, for being a "smart" modder, you sure do like to show off your high-quality "expensive" mods. I wouldn't be too quick to bash MTM for charging what they do and the people that buy it for being naive to what else is available. Go look at some MTM products in person and then tell me that they're not worth the money. Until you do, I don't think you have any place saying that they're overcharging people and that you can get the same product for less money. Done.

Not to start an argument with you but exactly what are the reasons MTM's CB cost 1900 euros? Are the welds that much better than AWE, FI, MIlltek, Labree? Or is the machine they mandrel bend the tubing made out of gold? IS the fitment that much better? Is the material that much better than the companies I stated above? Because 1900 euros is alot more money than 1200 dollars. And as for their wheels, why do heavy cast (not forged) MTM Bimotos cost 1800 euros per wheel when you can get a forged BBS LM-R for 1295 DOLLARS per wheel? Sorry man, Im sure it is a nice exhaust, but I just dont see the point of it with so many other options available for your car.

Well, their reasoning may be that their fit and finish is second to none. Also, they do have a very unique tone to their exhaust systems. If you don't believe me, search youtube. I think that the machinery they use is irrelevant. What everyone pays for in a mod is the expertise and knowledge that went into producing the product. The wheels again go back to their testing of the specific wheel. They test that wheel extensively on every application they have, from your S4 to a Bentley Continental GT, that wheel has to hold up. And since they are not as big as BBS, it may cost them more to go through this process. I'm not sure that is a rationlization for the price, but it can begin to explain the company's pricing. I'm not trying to start a fight, really I'm trying to clear up a huge misconception that seems to continue about MTM.

You will never go wrong with an MTM product. There is tremendous peace of mind in this, for me at least. That being said, it is very pricey and can be argued that it is not "worth" the money. If value is a factor, then it is definitely not a bang-for-the-buck product. I have a Milltek on my RS4. I am happy with it, but if I had to do it again, I would shell out the extra $$$$$ for the MTM.

You're the one claiming it is the best. So you must mean it is the best in every category. So prove it.
Obviously there can not be an all around best because a lot of the criteria used to judge is subjective.
If we were speaking about B7 exhausts I would say Corsa was the best for me.

chill buddy, I got it off of their own website and I didnt see it written as a set until now since the website is written out oddly. Regardless, 715 euro per wheel for a heavy cast wheel is a lot of money. they are nice and im sure a lot went into the development of them but it is still pricey

Back on track...not that the "off track" wasn't a whole lot of fun . Did you order yet? Have you heard any or all of the exhausts you were inquiring about in person? Just about any aftermarket exhaust is going to sound better than stock. I've heard all or most of the set ups you listed and like other stated, this is all "very" subjective and you can't tell squat from a crappy youtube clip. So many variables involved when someone puts together a clip and throws it on-line. I would never spend a couple grand on an exhaust based on the ears and opinions of a bunch of people I don't know and a few Internet recordings. Seek out a few locals and listen in person and then make up your mind.

some custom magnaflow setups sound really good....just make sure you go to the right shop....youtube someclips....im sure there's a blue B6 on there with a nice setup
