    Lighting and Such..

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Okay so basically I am trying to do a huge overhaul on the interior and exterior lighting in my A4. Several things that I am looking at are replacing the sidemarker lights with LED's, but I need resistors for them. If anyone can help me understand the process that I would need to use to install them suckers. On the interior I found a thread so don't post anything bout that cause I got that covered.

One last question is that I have standard shitty halogens and want to upgrade. Now would you recommend Xenon, HID, or (preferably for me) is there a bulb I can find to install there to give me a brighter light cause I have trouble seeing at night.

One last thing is that can anyone tell me a place where I can buy LED's or festoons to replace my lights over my tag that dont need resistors and wont flicker and burn out.

If you read this than thank you cause I need some help here and there. Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated!

Clear Corner mod scares me btw...

Try Osram/Sylvannia Silverstar Halogens... awesome halogen bulbs (what I used before my BiXenon retrofit) - very bright and white (for halogens). None of that blue coated bulb ish that reduces light output.

That or the Philips x-treme! Do not recommend doing the HID bulb in the halogen housing. I am currently running them myself and they throw light all over the place........
PM Darren for a price on the DEPO Headlights if you don't mind the angel eyes.
As for the licensplate light I have tried 5 different type of bulbs on my car and all flickered. Have now installed the resistor and it work great.

HID and Xenons are the same thing. You can get a HID system and put them in your halogen lights, but like redlabel81 mentioned, it's not recommended. it's best if you have a projector lens. here's a thread with some more info...

and you can try these for your license plates:

I don't understand why everyone thinks it's so complicated to change the rear license plate bulbs. I bought these from hoen when I got my foglights. I got them almost a year ago and they've worked perfectly. No flickering whatsoever, no resistor and no bulb out warning.

    Re: Lighting and Such..

that's cause the hoen's are incandescent bulbs. no need to mess with resistors and such. it's a straight swap. which is why i went with the hoen's as well. but everyone wants the LED bulbs in there, and for that you need resistors.
