do you mean TP *testpipe* why would a down pipe be illegal? its after the cat so it doesn't go against any laws that i know of... (assuming you still have a cat)

Don't know the cali laws, as far as i know everything has to be CARB certified unless its OEM, isn't it?

Theoretically, you changing anything on the car is "illegal."

Will anyone know if you have a 2.5 or 3" downpipe (if you still have cats)? No.

When would this ever be an issue? Can't imagine being investigated for too large of downpipes

Cali is hell for modded cars. Some guy with a 1.8T had his car impounded because of a FMIC. Cali is crazy with some laws because of street racers, and their constant smog

None of the downpipes available for our cars are legal in Cali due to the fact that none of them have a CARB (aka the smog Nazis) EO number. Even piggies are technically illegal in Cali. Does that mean you will get caught? Most likely no.

I have APR downpipes. I go to Smog-N-Go (the most official testing station ever). I've never had a problem. Nothing is illegal as long as it looks legit. Bling is your worst enemy (ask Frank Lucas).

exactly. but then again i take my cars to a sponser in Stockton then they take them and they "pass" every time. never had a problem when they take a car but when i took my truck they turned it down because of the k&n open box and the exhaust.

thanks for all the info. I am going to order the ssac exhaust and dp for now until I can afford something nicer. It kinda sucks right now having the car stage 3 with no exhaust mods.
