    Re: Looking for a relay

no its not the fog relay. the fog relay if you are staring at your glove box with it tilted all the way down, reach up on the right hand side and then twist your fingers towards your face. that is the fog light relay. it sits inside of a black holder with a long 'finger' that holds it into the pins. the finger is only as big as the relay is without the pins on it, so you have to pry like hell to get the finger down, then get the relay out, and while all of this, the finger is attached to a plastic holder that is taped and attached to the wiring harness so it can not move.

i ended up pulling my relay harness and relay out of the holder and did the fog light mod, then shoved it back into the harness and left the holder and finger thing off.. i havent had any problems at all, its never even attempted to come lose. it was too much of a bitch to get a relay that goes into a holder that is only as big as the relay, minus the pins. my pins kept getting bent to hell from trying to put it in sideways, then swing it down so it would seat right.

    Re: Looking for a relay

Do you have the link to the fog light mod thread? Is it possible to pry that relay? I need to check mine coz I had to connect my fogs on direct since they stopped working...

what do you mean pry? do you mean fry? yes there is, just like any other relay. I am not sure they cost new, but they do eventually go bad.

the fog light mod involves bending 2 pins over to the constant power and soldering them. you can do the 3rd, but then it wont pass inspection anywhere cause it wont turn off with your high beams like it will if you just bend the other 2 pins .

its on audiworld under tech and then b5 s4, i forget the author of it though.

lol tks a lot...I guess my english sucks lol...

I mean..is there a way to open that relay and check it? The stealership couldnt even tell me what was wrong with my fogs, so I guess this would be it, considering that i already double checked the fogs switches..

    Tks again!
